Revelation 6 describes one white horse and Revelation 19 describes another white horse.
Let us compare them. Here are our observations. Firstly we shall examine the rider of the white horse at Revelation 6.
6 " Then I saw as the Lamb broke open one of the seven seals, and as if in a voice of thunder I heard one of the four living creatures call out, Come!2 And I looked, and saw there a white horse whose rider carried a bow. And a crown was given him, and he rode forth conquering and to conquer.3 And when He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature call out, Come!4 And another horse came out, flaming red. And its rider was empowered to take the peace from the earth, so that men slaughtered one another; and he was given a huge sword.5 When He broke open the third seal, I heard the third living creature call out, Come and look! And I saw, and behold, a black horse, and in his hand the rider had a pair of scales (a balance).6 And I heard what seemed to be a voice from the midst of the four living creatures, saying, A quart of wheat for a denarius [a whole day’s wages], and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not harm the oil and the wine!7 When the Lamb broke open the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living creature call out, Come!8 So I looked, and behold, an ashy pale horse [[a]black and blue as if made so by bruising], and its rider’s name was Death, and Hades (the realm of the dead) followed him closely. And they were given authority and power over a fourth part of the earth to kill with the sword and with famine and with plague (pestilence, disease) and with wild beasts of the earth. The rider is permitted just ONE Victory Wreath. The Greek word some translations render as Crown is "Stephanos". Stephanos is completely different from the Crown which a soveriegn Ruler wears to denote His Royal Authority. Instead Stephanos refers to a reward, a prize, an ornament conferring some honour or glory. It refers to "that which forms an encirclement" as in a Wreath worn by a victor in the Public games.
The rider has a bow
He has a mission to do some conquering and if possible he wishes to complete the conquest he started
This rider is part of a posse of FOUR abusive riders, all of whom are intent on harming mankind.
The tools of war these evil riders use are: war, food shortages and plague. The red horse clearly symbolizes war be it overt or covert. The black horse symbolizes food shortage. Hence, since only one tool of war remains we must ascribe that tool of war to the rider of the white horse, namely biological warfare or as the Bible calls it, plague.
The rider of the white horse engages in biological warfare( plague). We see that his modus operandi involves puncturing the skin of humans. He has a bow as his weapon - arrows fired by a bow puncture the skin. Clearly, he fires poisoned arrows.
All four horse men are given a limited permit as described in verse 8 namely the authority to harm and kill a quarter of Earth's population.
The rider of the white horse is intent on demicide and has no title. Yet because he is granted a crown he is associated with governmental rulership. Verse 8 makes it clear that part of the genocide would be perpetrated by governments. The governments are described as "wild beasts" in verse 8.
One of the Four Living Creatures grants the ride of all four horses and commands then to ride forth.
Is The Rider of The White Horse Christ?
By contrast the rider of Revelation 19's white horse has very different companions.
Revelation chapter 19 verses 11 to 16. 11 "After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness).12 His eyes [blaze] like a flame of fire, and on His head are many kingly crowns (diadems); and He has a title (name) inscribed which He alone knows or can understand.13 He is dressed in a robe dyed by [c]dipping in blood, and the title by which He is called is The Word of God.14 And the troops of heaven, clothed in fine linen, dazzling and clean, followed Him on white horses.15 From His mouth goes forth a sharp sword with which He can smite (afflict, strike) the nations; and He will shepherd and control them with a staff (scepter, rod) of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath and indignation of God the All-Ruler (the Almighty, the Omnipotent).16 And on His garment (robe) and on His thigh He has a name (title) inscribed, king of kings and lord of lords." - Amplified Bible Classic Edition.
Here are our observations about the rider of Revelation 19's White Horse. We find not only NO description to match Revelation 6's rider but indeed a stark contrast between chaper 6's evil rider and chapter 19's Holy rider.
This rider does not support either genocide or democide. He judges in righteousness and carries on war in righteousness. Righteous war does not allow for either indiscriminate genocide or democide.
He is called Righteous and True
His eyes are a fiery flame
Upon his head is not just one Royal Crown, but many Royal Crowns. The Greek word used here is not Stephanos! It is "diadēma" and refers to a Diadem or Crown as worn by a Sovereign. It signifies the badge or mark of a King. We note that Christ is wearing Many Royal Crowns denoting that his authority is not only indisputable but is indeed far reaching.
He has a name written that is his sign of full authority to rule as He inherits planet Earth ( Revelation chapter 11 verse 15)
His outer garment is sprinkled with blood.
He is called The Word of God.( John chapter 1 verses 1 and 14)This is Christ Jesus.
He heads a support team of Holy riders also on white horses.
The riders supporting his rulership wear clean, white fine linen. They are Christ's supporters who have fresh, spiritual , holy bodies. They have partaken of the bread from heaven, hence have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb.
A sharp long sword protrudes from his mouth indicating that he makes decisive commands with supreme authority.
He shepherds the nations firmly, yet justly in a fashion which cannot be bent or manipulated, just like a rod of iron. He restrains the rulers and halts their oppression of mankind. ( Psalm 2)
He will respond to violent opposition to his rule in a decisive manner as He treads the winepress of the anger of the wrath of his Father.
Both His outer garment and his thigh have a name written : King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Yes Psalm 110 describes Christ ruling mankind whilst his enemies are vassals. He rules for some time whilst his enemies still exist and are restrained. All will see the contrast between a King of Peace and a Ruler who has no love of man.
Christ rides under his own command. He needs no angel or living creature to permit him or command him to ride as King.
CLEARLY no match is found to link one rider with the other. The contrast is so stark that one is a slayer of man and the other is a Righteous and just King of Peace.
